Brooklyn-based producer Michael Hatsis aka Banginclude has become one of the most interesting names in the thriving zouk bass scene. His knack for global rhythms has lead him to release tropical-flavoured bangers on Latino Resiste and Generation Bass, further cementing his reputation among zouk bass royalty with the I Just Wanna Zouk You anthem on Enchufada’s ‘We Call It Zouk Bass Volume I’.
For the latest episode of Enchufada’s dancefloor-focused 2-track free EPs inaugurated by zouk don RIOT, the American beatmaker decided to channel the addictive rhythms of the Brazilian zouk bass offshoot known as rasteirinha, with its relentlessly winding percussion inspired by traditional drum patterns. Add a lot of bass, colorful synths, looping vocal chops, a sense of humor and at least ten different ways to make you dance and you’ve got an idea of what ‘Barulho’ has in store for you.
Both Fradonia and Pablo & Andrea are tough, dancefloor-ready tropical bangers that reference zouk, rasteirinha and trap beats while still sounding like something new and unique. Banginclude is clearly on a roll as he keeps raising the bar with each release, proving that the zouk bass scene is not only here to stay, but keeps constantly reinventing itself and absorbing new global sounds.
