alvarez by Epilepsy

acoustic guitar improv + noise improv = this record. while i was back in nashville for thanksgiving, i had the wise idea of recording myself improvising on my grandad's old alvarez guitar which my parents had kept hanging on the wall for years. its tuning pegs were broken and it was stuck in this really low dissonant tuning, so i figured it could be used to make something fun and interesting. i didn't bring any mics home so i ended up just recording all of the guitar tracks on my phone. as soon as i got back to pdx i started to record noise performances to go along with with the guitar tracks. i would deconstruct whatever noise setup i used for each track after i was done recording for it, so every song on this record features a unique noise palette. the resulting record is different from anything else i've done for epilepsy, so im sorry if i've alienated my very opinionated and extensive fanbase. in all seriousness tho, this was a fun one to make, and i think a sister record featuring a banjo might soon be in the works😳
