Baron Gargoyle by Erisian Chalice

Composed during multiple bouts of illness in the earliest days of 2024

Baron Gargoyle is a sketchy landlord who extorts high rents from the working folk in the central regions of the Spectracosm. He owns most of the dwellings in and around the city of Groat with the blessing of a distant and possibly mythical emperor whose name is long forgotten.

Baron Gargoyle also has illicit dealings with the corrupt Burgher of Groat, who is an exiled half-Gorgonoid known as X'ul Xep. Together they have plans to flee north with the city's vast treasury, but each is also plotting to double-cross the other along the way...
