Espionage Rut by flashing astraptes

‘Espionage Rut’ is a collection of compositions about mood and sensation, atmosphere and surroundings.

Exploring themes of spirituality, disillusionment and disorientation, as well as meditative contemplation and atmospheric romanticism, these compositions were largely made using a collection of improvised recordings, tape loops, Portuguese wind and percussion instruments and Tibetan singing bowls to express altered states of mind and the minute details of unfamiliar surroundings that form contexts for particular feelings and emotions.

The title comes from the desire for escapism from the figurative darkness of emotional and spiritual distress and also more literally relates to the political and civil unrest in Ukraine, of which this EP also draws some of its themes from.
