The “broca area” of the brain is located in the frontal lobe. It’s the part of the brain responsible for language processing and speech production.
This new long-form piece started off as an experiment with vocal samples and tonality. It was never intended to be twenty minutes long but it just kept growing as a soundscape, so I went with the flow and tried to be as expressive as possible.
It somehow warped into one big voyage that covers a lot of ground. There’s ambient passages, acapella vocalisations, shifting percussive patterns and a whole melting pot of musical language, if you will.
“Broca” acts as a prelude of sorts to my upcoming release on Bricolage which will be out on April 14th.
