They may not like a jellyfish
I don’t think jelly is their favourite dish
So be observant look for clues

He said he'd like to put her in his private diorama
He promised her protection there so no-one would ever harm her
And she fell under his spell because he knew just how to charm her

But her father said “No way, will you take away my daughter
We need her here to work the farm, the days are getting shorter
We must make a profit out of all the things we taught her
The only way she can go is if you pay gold and then you have bought her”

So he took her down to Dorset and now she's in his diorama
He feeds her tea and oranges and pieces of banana
And she sits and stares out of glass all day
And she dreams of being a farmer

Then her mother said “I have a plan to make us both feel calmer
I'll change places with her inside that diorama
He'll think the air has aged her and he'll want set her free
Free to come back home, free to be owned by you and me”

The Golden Ring Of Time (J.C. Hamill)

Somewhere
On a sandbank
There’s a dark man
And he’s holding a bright golden ring
Then suddenly, without warning
He throws it out into the sea
I didn’t see it land but found it lying on the sand
The morning after

It was light but it was heavy
And it made a peculiar sound
Like angels singing together
It was square and yet perfectly round
I couldn’t understand what I was holding in my hand
But I was curious

And later in the depth of night
Someone turned out all the lights
I heard them creeping underneath
As I pressed into embroidered sheets
They came to take the ring but it was securely hidden
It was then I felt a deep sense of foreboding and forbidden
Foreboding and forbidden, Foreboding and forbidden

Then the dogs howled and the trees broke
And the wind was so loud in my ears
There was lightning something’s happening
A strange looking man has appeared
“I think you have something for me”, he said
“Just take it, leave me be” I said

So I ran back to the sandbank
Hoping there was someone I could tell
But the dark man with the strange eyes
Was shouting his fear in my ear
And suddenly from the East, in came the Orange Beast
Coming towards us

I fell under
While seeing my life flash through my head
On the re-run, how I wonder
Would I do what I did if I knew?
Too late to change my mind
Or turn back the hands of time …….
