Japanese Lights by Frazer Merrick
Listen to the lights of Japan.
Using my Photon Smasher microphone, a microphone for listening to light, I explored the illuminating rhythms and textures around Shibuya, Shinjuku and Akihabara in Tokyo, and an outdoor light festival in Hiroshima.
These edited recordings are shared with the CC Attribution license meaning you are welcome to distribute, remix, tweak, and build upon my work, even commercially, as long as I am credited for the original creation.

I use field recordings, circuit bending and synthesis to create sonic experiences which explore the act of play. Using lo-fi tech I transform spaces or objects, encouraging the audience to become a curious performer and embrace play through interactivity, improvisation and collaboration.
