Mass Transit by Free Tillman
When looking out the window of a moving vehicle, things can sometimes blend together to the point that it looks like you’re staring at a static image. Of course in reality, everything is constantly changing. This is the sound of Mass Transit.
Even at its most loop-heavy, no eight bars are exactly the same. During the making of this album I collected hours of field recordings in crowded busses, speeding streetcars and turbulent airplanes in order to convey what I thought this album should feel like: the feeling of you trying to distract yourself until you get where you’re going, only to realize that you’re already there.
