Ruins from Patterns by FS
This is one example of a song that tries to combine very different musical elements. It starts out with a piano riff, builds up many bass- and guitar layers, which get stripped back again after the first pre-chorus, where a rap part starts. After the second pre-chorus, the distorted and EQ-ed chorus vocals are sung in front of a cluster of noise, static, distortion and other FX. After that a metal part starts, before shifting to the second and last chorus with just regular distortion guitar chords.
Lyrics are about the cycle of construction and destruction, from the latter of which new things, new life can emerge and grow again.
