Bitter Everythings by Gandhi's Hands
Bitter Everythings is the second album release by Gandhi's Hands.
Presented in 10 expansive tracks of unrelenting fuzzy psych-folk, the album explores themes of desire, loss, the chaos and homesickness of a long voyage, burying and being buried, ego death, and that impossible thing that you can't quite quantify or describe, all set in a twisted dream-scape with it's own dream-logic. Conceived in a time before Covid 19, yet born into an ever more chaotic reality, stranger than the fiction which underscores the album - listen loud.
Some chewable facts about the album:
- it's thoroughly a DIY project from start to finish, recorded in various ordinary rooms in Manchester, London, Banbury, Leeds, and Tasmania.
- One track features me playing Mrs. Mills' piano, the very same one used by The Beatles on their later albums (probably the most famous piano in the world, look it up!). Yes I had to go to Abbey Road to do this, and yes I did record it on my phone (in true DIY fashion).
- The album artwork was made by hand, and features a lot of themes and folks from my life around the time I was writing the album.
- Manchester-based producer/ambient artist Frederic Molander helped me out in finishing the mixes, and mastering the album.
