Breakwater by George Karpasitis
As I was entering guitarist/producer Michael Jost's studio in Venice, California, overlooking the Pacific Ocean on a sunny February 2020 afternoon, the world was still 'normal'. Right before lockdown, we recorded nine new original compositions for solo classical guitar, written in Cyprus and California during the past year or so. These pieces further explore the sounds of my Mediterranean heritage as well as dive into more ambient, dreamy spaces. There are many lyrical moments, and as always, hints of the blues.
