Passion Play: Songs of spirit, love, and outrage

A freshly re-imagined version of Passion Play, originally recorded over 20 years ago. It offers an eclectic mix of politically-charged rock anthems, some quieter songs, and loony-tune satirical commentary, all delivered with a fiery honesty and a full-on band – the ‘band’ being (with a few exceptions) all me.

A Note from the Artist:

Passion Play is a collection of songs originally recorded back in 2004 – 2005. It was the last album I produced which went to tape. As technology advanced over the years, I decided Passion Play deserved a digital re-mix. Given the enduring relevance of the songs and the quality of the performances I figured it would be worth the effort.

So I flew all tracks from all songs, still in great shape, into my Apple/Logic system where I then set to polishing everything to a springtime-fresh shine, editing and adding little bits as I went.

And here, honored Listener, is the result. I had way too much fun doing this - and yes, it was totally worth the effort. These songs now sound as good as they’re ever going to sound, as far as I’m concerned.

I sincerely hope the experience of Passion Play provides a goodly dose of spirit, love, and outrage for all to better inspire and encourage us in the endurance of what the old Chinese curse refers to as ‘Interesting Times’.
