A Plan


Now, as if from the sky
A camera with a distant

Focus with some daylight,
shows the body of the mother,

and next to her that of the child:
they switch sides, as if to suckle

the same sleep, gathered
in the embrace that breathes

more deeply than the night—
far away from your caress,

as if the years forgot them
there where sleep awakens



Πλανο


Τωρα, σαν απ` τον ουρανο,
η καμερα σε μακρινο

πλανο, με λιγο φως ημερας,
δειχνει το σωμα της μητερας

και πλαϊ του παιδιου: αλλαζουν
πλευρο μαζι, σαν να θηλαζουν

τον ιδιο υπνο, μαζεμενοι
στην αγκαλια που ανασαινει

βαθυτερα κι απ`το σκοταδι-
μακρια απ´ το δικο του χαδι,

λες και τους ξεχασαν οι χρονοι
εκει που ο υπνος ξημερωνει

και τ´ ονειρο γινεται μερα`
πολυ μακρια, ολο πιο περα.
