it may be a poem set to music, but it is also an honest self-portrait. i wrote the music of this during a massive snowstorm, and the original poem from which this was adapted was written in a moment of extreme clarity near the end of a time i now consider hell, before some massive trauma whose aftermath changed my life in part for the better. even if you think you're stuck or broken, trust me, you aren't permanently, and it gets better. "I choose to be here."
