Gun d’ chuir iad fàilt’
Air an eun bheag thlàth
Nuair a nochd i às an speur
Is na briathran fhèin
Bhiodh an tìr seo gu bràth
Na cridhe a’ dèanamh tàmh,
’S gun tug i spèis
’s gun do nochd i bàidh
Do na diùlnaich anns a’ Ghleann
Is ma fhuair ’s i a thug
A’ cur luach leis a’ pheann:
An t-urram thug i dhaibh,
’S sinn seo le deòin
’S iomadh bliadhna is còrr
Bhon a dh’imrich i thar chuan
’S ged tha ’n fhosgag-àdhair
Sàmhach gun duan
Bidh a gnìomh gu sìorraidh buan.
Little bird
They welcomed
The gentle little bird,
When she appeared out of the sky,
And as she herself said,
This land would forever
Be nestled in her heart
She gave respect
And offered kindness
To the good people of the Glen
and what she was gifted
was priceless and honoured
through her pen
Willingly, we’re been here,
For countless years and more,
Ever since she travelled across the ocean.
And although the little skylark
Has quietened when once she sang
Her timeless melody will endure
