Before starting work on the new album, I spent a lot of time thinking. Only one word always came to mind: "salvation." Our interest is primarily the Old Testament, since it is complex and interesting at the same time. The New Testament often quotes the Old Testament, but does not reveal details. That is why the next topic was a chapter from the Old Testament of Holy Scripture.
In the upcoming album we have presented one of the most important biblical events - "Exodus". This theme is consonant with the word "salvation", because the Exodus of Israel from the land of Egypt meant the salvation of this people from slavery.
This album has been completely reworked and everyone has hotly discussed the scream. Some work has been done for that, and you will hear a completely different sound on this album. Another important point is that now the entire text is in Church Slavonic, and excerpts from the corresponding chapters are read without changing the text and meaning. All this creates a certain, peculiar atmosphere inherent in the project.
Reflecting on the cover of the new album, I realized that I want to see the bird as the main symbol. But not a bird, but a crow.
Returning to the Holy Scripture, to Genesis, I remembered the following lines: "Forty days later, Noah opened the window of the ark and released a raven to find out if the water had disappeared. The raven flew out, flew away and returned until the earth dried up."
Apparently from here the understanding came to me that the raven is the very first hope of Noah for salvation and the completion of the flood, although the raven did not fully justify his expectations. It resonates a lot with the theme of the new album. Then I remembered the third book of Kings, Chapter 17, verses 1-7: "And the word of the Lord came to him: go from here and turn to the east and hide by the stream of Chorath, which is opposite Jordan; from this stream you will drink, and I have commanded the crows feed you there. "
Thus, I understood exactly why I wanted to see the crow as the main symbol of the new album. A bird that quickly travels long distances to achieve its goal.
