Green Blade Tapes is Inspired by the solarpunk movement, it seeks ecologically sustainable futures for music by investigating the environmental impact of music production and distribution (both digital and physical) and developing strategies to move music (and us) forward greenly. Solarpunk utopias are for now a dream, a science fiction yet, they are possible. a vision of a better world we can build together. It is in our power to positively change the way we live and relate to nature, in the process each other too.
'Polygon Forest' is our first various artist compilation, released on recycled cassette tapes (duplicated on recycled cassette recorders) and on digital formats. It features 21 artists from around the world whose work responds in various ways to the compilation theme of ecology and ecological sustainability.
Special thanks also to the Keele Institute for Sustainable Futures (ISF) whoās funding made the production of this album possible and to Keele Music Production where the album was produced. You can find more info about ISF here: https://www.keele.ac.uk/sustainable-futures/
