Bamfurlong was the name given to the farmland of Farmer Maggot, and was located in the Marish, a part of the Shire's Eastfarthing.

Bamfurlong was boggy in nature and made for above ground habitation rather than the traditional Hobbit-hole. It also made excellent ground for growing mushrooms. Bamfurlong included a huge turnip field and a lane that led to a large, thatched house and outbuildings. The house and buildings were built of brick and were protected by a high wall with a wooden gate.
