The Tides... They speak to me...
Venäz, Dustwalker, Last of His Kind, Chosen of the Nine, Herald of the Void. He is coming. He will arrive here on Meridian in one year, at the Zenith of the Cycle. You must go and seek out the end to the devastation the Cycle visits upon this world every century.
Why is this Cycle special, you ask? Harvest won't just be hard for a generation. The wells won't just dry up. Venäz will ensure that all life on Meridian perishes. He will use the heat and power from the Source within Peak to amplify his destruction.
It is the bidding of the Nine, those foul, mindless wretches that made and feed off our universe. You have studied The Words. They seek the extinction of all life and the expansion of the Void. You must stop Venäz and, in so doing, save Meridian from the wrath of the Nine and the never-ending Cycle.
The Tides... They have spoken... Heed their warning...
