Recording Notes:
The bulk of these recordings were made in an old horse stable in Durban which became a garage which became a record store which then became a studio. Who knows what holds next for that space. Shane, Kanada and Guy were all tracked there. Julian was then sent rough mixes for spiritual advice but instead came back with layers of zen which slotted in like a dream which he all recorded at his place in Johazardburg. Ronan smashed out his perc parts at his home in Kalk Bay outside of Cape Town. Chris kindly recorded Thandi’s one take vocal Jediness as well as taking down his own mad skillz in his studio which we understand to be located somewhere in Gauteng. Guy then hung out for some time with the ever enigmatic Mark Hako to make sense of all the noise. They were continuously guided by Yatra and Imphepho, with regular visits to a nearby treehouse for further sonic counselling.
Mastered by Simon Ratcliffe at Sound & Motion Studios, Cape Town
Produced by Guy Buttery at Broken Chair Studios, Durban
