Slowdown by Harry Lieben
In this album I have concentrated on getting deeper inside the polyphonic overtone singing. The "paulstretch" setting which stretches the audio out without changing the pitch proved very helpful. All but the last track "umngqokolo" have a varying degree of paulstretch from 2x to even an extreme 10x. In this way it becomes much easier to hear the smallest of details which admittedly even the artist himself was not always aware of!
The videos that show the frequency spectrum can assist in finding these details.
Don't be fooled with all this analysing talk now. Overtone singing and improvisation is my passion.
