On the 4x7" singles collection LSP Lea Sonnek leads us through a wildly grown forest of sound, in which percussive elements generate soundscapes, field recordings merge with booming feedback and groaning guitars are reminiscent of creaking trees. In tracks such as ‘Wake Up My Beloved’, ‘Pillow’ and ‘In The Forest’ crystal-clear vocals and melodic pianos awaken us from a gentle sleep in the wet grass with crashing noise. On the 4th vinyl, HELLA COMET deliver a heavily grounded soundtrack to the exploration of inner forest landscapes. Low, low, where the saplings grow.

Dense walls of guitar sounds and the ethereal vocals of bass player Lea Sonnek – the comparison with Sonic Youth suggests itself, shoegaze elements are also undeniable. But this doesn’t quite describe it all: the music of the Austrian band also draws inspiration from various post-rock acts of the 1990s, as can be deduced from song lengths beyond seven minutes and cunning drum beats.
