Fury Road by Hverheij
Sometimes it’s dark, but the will pushes onward. Those are the sentiments behind this third instalment of The Wanderer series. Following Finder’s Seekers from 2021, this segment envisions a futuristic survival under doom’s bleak gambit. The fractures are both internal and external to the main character’s drive. But although it musically depicts a dark-side story, there is hope at the end of this frontier.
With exclusion of the last track to this album, delivery of this project was produced via alternative rock, experimental and progressive heavy metal/electronic music. All instruments were equally destroyed in the making: synths, guitars, drums - you name it. Heavy on the squelch, especially on track 5. “The Waste Land” is therefore a nod to T. S. Eliot. Liberties were taken to convey the message, earth was shaken with the prospect. By conclusion, Track 6 resolves out of the turmoil and segues towards what ultimately will be The Wanderer’s final journey - in an upcoming 4th project in the series.
