Prepackaged Salad by Jack Bertelli

Prepackaged Salad was born out of a unique assignment in my final semester at Berklee College of Music- to create an EP of vocal music. Although the assignment did not require me to use my own vocals, I took it upon myself to accept the challenge and begin my journey as a world-class singer (not really).

As a budding lyricist, I was inspired to write 5 songs about something near and dear to me: food that could ostensibly comprise a salad. Throughout this short album, the listener will be overjoyed to hear my exploration of complex issues, like having croutons in excess or discovering the nature of legumes.

I performed, recorded, and produced these tracks myself. Joining me on track 4 is the endlessly creative Devin Ferreira, whose course at Berklee led me to create this project. His guidance and encouragement made this endeavor possible. I completed the final mixes and masters of Salad in the months following my graduation from Berklee in August 2022.

I hope you enjoy this truly unique, perhaps once-in-a-lifetime musical event.
