Remain Calm by James Davis' Beveled

In early March 2020, Beveled was able to get into the studio and record some new compositions just before the world was changed as we knew it.

"Remain Calm" attempts to capture some of the emotional undercurrent at the time, as we all started to navigate a new environment.

"Rothko Sketch 1" is a brief opportunity for reflection and re-centering.

"Waves of Dust" embraces the the cycle, the daily loop, and an acceptance of living in one's smaller world.

"Winter Song" weaves a tapestry of lightness and hope, finding a little room for play even in the dark and cold times.

James Davis, a Chicago trumpeter and music maker, is comfortable in and always enjoys exploring a wide array of musical environments. As an improviser and composer, Davis is involved in a diverse blend of musical communities in the Chicago area.
