by side of cliff that kisses pink and golden open mouthed of mountain-shot from silver slit in night shivers.

I ride the zephyr that licks my thighs inward
Toward the river at the mountain foot

She was lost there.

My mother was lost there.

Though we fought and I told her I hated her.

But I loved her

My mother was lost silver mouthed of that mountain.

diamonds once cheekstruck lit her face across glimmered window
to write her lips in silver.
And fill her words with silver.

Until I watched her hip-wading through grasses
Toward cascade threads splayed at mountain-toes until river’s gasp.


Tonight I glimmered by that very window.

And the silver of her mouth imprinted on mine.

Toward the river at mountain’s toe splayed threads
