Blue Orphan by Jan Bang
This single, "Blue Orphan", featuring guitarist Eivind Aarset and contributions from Jan’s son, Emanuel Birkeland-Bang, has been specially remixed by Jan Bang. Although taken from the forthcoming album "With These Hands" it does not appear on it. Instead, "Blue Orphan" creates a bridge between the two tracks of the album, "With These Hands" - featuring Ensemble Modern - and "Between Them" - featuring Eivind Aarset. It is a miniature that speaks in its own patois derived from the individual languages of the two album tracks, a piece of fragile yet confident beauty.

Jan Bang is a Norwegian musician and record producer, known from several albums and collaborations over many years with musicians like Sidsel Endresen, Jon Hassell, Tigran Hamasyan, Nils Petter Molvær, Eivind Aarset, Arve Henriksen and Erik Honoré - the latter of which he co-founded the Punkt festival with in 2005.
