Our first sophomore release marks the welcome return of New York-via-Richmond multi-instrumentalist j inthename with OX, the sequel to 2014’s JA and the second part of a trilogy of early compositions. OX follows the semi-chronological numerology of its predecessor with a matured approach that matches earthen rumble with a mechanical angularity. j conjures an abstract-hip hop laced with cave echo and Latin energy to craft a vessel of hopeful enterprise — a New American Dry.
