The etymology of "computer bug" is actual physical insects getting into and causing issues in enormous vacuum tube computers. Modern technology is crazily more complex, and thus deserves more complicated problems - monkeys in the machine. These chip monkeys cause issues beyond comprehension, yet ultimately reflect our own absurdity in how we use our toys.
