Do you like Love songs? After spending a lifetime spent avoiding this subject in song, Joel Sarakula finally admits that he does. On his new album „Love Club“ Sarakula relives the golden age of Soulful and Romantic Pop music and connects it with a modern aesthetic.
“In Trouble” is the first single from “Love Club” co-written with Michele Stodart of The Magic Numbers and the best example for Joel Sarakula’s unique, and honest approach to making music. “I love politically conscious soul from the 70s – Curtis, Gil Scott Heron and Marvin. It's just the most vibrant and aware music, all those brilliant squiggly guitars and congas... though the casual listener could be fooled into thinking it's a little naïve. And there are these similarities that the 70s shares with our current age: strikes, terrorism, despotism... So 'In Trouble' was my attempt at doing an updated politically conscious song for these dark times. But don't worry it's still hopeful and positive, it's a pop song after all! So you probably want to know how does a political song fit into an album called 'Love Club'? I don't know... Political Love, is that a thing?! Let's just say it's about love for your fellow man... and woman.”
“Love Club” will be released on April 20, 2018 on LP, CD and digital download on Légerè Recordings.
