One by John Bauers
This is a recording many years in the making, songs that I have written and performed for Quimby Church in New Jersey for the last several years. Influenced and inspired by gospel, pop, rock and jazz, and by the message conveyed from the ministers of connection, intention, positive thinking, and love.
The music is intended to be inspiring, but fun, too. There are upbeat, even danceable tunes, and some beautiful songs suitable for meditation.
I am lucky to be accompanied by some great New York City musicians and singers including George Naha, (Aretha Franklin, Sam and Dave, Wilson Pickett, Bernard Purdie), Ula Hedwig (Bette Midler, Robert Plant, Todd Rundgren), David Longworth (Ben E. King, Southside Johnny), Dave Post (bandleader for Swingadelic, NY’s top “little big band), Brian Glassman (Klezmatics, John Pizzarelli, Margaret Whiting), Boo Reiners (Dispatch, Phil Lesh), Donna Harris (Garth Brooks, Enya), and Brian Bauers (Christine Lavin, Pete Seeger).
The release is planned for August 15 of this year, give a listen and share with your friends who might be interested, I will be putting up single tracks throughout the summer.

John Bauers has had a versatile and varied career as a songwriter, singer, piano player, and composer. He’s played on 4 Continents, won an Emmy and an NEA grant, scored music for television, documentary films, books on tape, children’s records, recorded 6 albums with popular NYC big band, Swingadelic, and been music director for Quimby Memorial Church. He performs regularly in New York.
