Snowdrift by Joseph Carmichael

I wrote this simple little melody in November 2019, near the end of what was one of the most difficult and stressful years of my adult life, while preparing for a run of Christmas shows with The Here & Now.

We included it in our setlist for those shows, but I considered it unfinished until finally revisiting and rewriting a few parts of it on our first snowy night at our new home of eastern Pennsylvania, now at the end of another year full of upheaval and uncertainty.

The holiday season has always been one of my favorite times of year, especially for slowing down and composing music, usually inspired by some winter theme from one game or another.

I hope this tune helps you slow down a little whilst welcoming in the cold months.
