There's a bunch of dusty concrete
Where are a building used to be
And there’s some folks up in that valley, still lookin for their family
And my friends down by the river they watched it all go down the drain
There’s and endless list of all the things we’ve lost in that September rain

Now that mountain side’s has become a graveyard
For The ancient trees that swayed
And the fields have turned to mud where you used to hear the children play
But there ain't no use in trying to find someone to blame
Because we've all done enough crying
Over that September rain

Well, I can't tell where we're headed
But I know we ain't the same
But I can still feel the heartbeat that gave us our good good name
Ain't no use denying or trying to find blame
But our spirits are unbroken, because we rise above the pain
All helping each other after that September rain
All helping each other recover from that September rain
