Everybody’s fairy tale needs a princess in a tower
Yet they are as rare as precious pearls
Let me take the time to tell you how my life got changed
When I met a special little girl
Lost for a moment on a bridge across the Thames
You smiled at me and took my hand
If I would love your Mum, I had to love her kids
You both made it easy for this man

By every power above
Everything I love
To me you lift my spirit with your smile
How could you understand
All that God for you had planned
Now He put you in my life for just a while
You are loved as much now grown, my precious child

What a special privilege to watch my princess grow
Looking more and more beautiful each day
How I thank the Lord for you! You’re always in my prayers
Whether you are home or far away
And when you smile at me my heart it melts like ice
And something special that you’ve known
Your fluttered eyelids always get you what you want
Just like a princess on a throne

And if you’re crying then I want to make it right
And take away from you the pain
I’d ease your burden; take your part in any fight
And I’d help you right back on your feet again
