Dia Barani from Sowal Diabi by De Kaboul A Bamako

Perfectly blending a West-African beat and Oriental ornamentation, Mamani Keïta uses this Arat Kilo composition to evoke her childhood selling oranges in Bamako. It marvellously illustrates the musical intelligence of a project in which violin, tabla, electric guitar and târ make music side by side without betraying their tonality.
