Autumn Hat by Karmaskeleton

Sorry for dropping Burning a year ago, promising new music, and dipping. I made the decision in 2022 to step away from my personal projects for a bit to work with The Lamaas again, which has been a super fun and rewarding experience. Being in that setting has pushed me to elevate my writing and playing capabilities by an incredible amount, and I can't wait to bring those skills back with me here. In the meantime, I did have that album I was working on. The whole thing's practically done, I just have some tweaks here and there. So I decided I wanted to spend time this year getting that out.

So here's Autumn Hat, a silly little song I wrote during the pandemic about learning to enjoy my surroundings while being stuck inside. I'd never really thought about the state I was living in before, until I had to be stuck inside with it 24/7. I replaced pretty much all of my furniture, I upgraded my recording setup, my gear, even turned my closet into a vocal booth. This was the first song I got to record using all of my new equipment, and I'm super proud of it. This track's a huge shift from my usual trippy beats and slacker rock. I decided I wanted to pay homage to the music I grew up with, so here's something within the realm of 2000s alt rock, with my own psychedelic twist on it.
