I’ve quit complaining about my accounts
My dollars and cents don’t make sense
The amount that I have is much less than I thought

If I’m being honest, I guess I could work a little more

My motivation is fleeting again
I furrow my brows as I browse
The same ten jobs I’ve seen
On every site I search on my screen

If my pen could take on a sword
I wouldn’t be so bored - Excalibur could write my cover letter
And maybe then my quest for purpose would end up better
And set me up to be a go-getter

I’d like to think that
I create my own reality
But the lack of emails back
Is killing the morale in me
