Generator by Keith Fullerton Whitman

Proper digital release of this 2009 suite of "Automatic" Electronic Music, the recorded debut of the "Generator" concept, recorded during September 2009 on a Doepfer Modular system with a few key Plan B circuits, now in the permanent collection at MESS in Melbourne.

I was always happy with how each side of this tape worked as a complete piece - especially the second - so I've started the digital package here with the same mastered, side-length files that I sent in for replication; this is how I recommend you listen to this material.

Many have asked over the years about the significance of the numbering structure; as with the "Live Generators" these were simply named in the order they were recorded. I've fleshed out the digital package with the individual pieces in order, including the otherwise unreleased "Generator 4" & the complete "Generator 7" & "Generator 8".
