Sad Devotion by Kiara NGL

This EP was made all over the place. Since I do the "production" on my phone, I was able to toil away at it in an array of places - a few I maybe shouldn't have (let's just say I didn't take many notes in my lectures. Also, if you walked in on me at my receptionist job and I was glued to my phone and took forever to notice you I'm sorry). I worked on planes and buses, I mixed tracks on broken headphones (I accidentally put them through a full wash and dry cycle), I recorded vocals in random desolate parking lots, and I awkwardly excused myself from social events to make voice memos when new melodies popped into my head. I broke down when I couldn't get things to sound "just right" and then learned to accept that there can be beauty in imperfection. Sure, most of the mixes here are kind of "off" (see Andromeda). But maybe that's part of the charm. Well, that's what I'm telling myself to make myself feel better.

So, here it is, in all its flawed glory: "Sad Devotion".
