I believe that sensitivity is a strength, because underlying it is usually a heightened awareness of what's presently happening. I suppose too much can also contribute to anxiety, so this song is about finding that middle-ground.
I ended up playing my resonator guitar with a violin bow to make that eerie string sound. I wanted it to sound cicada-like, and it appears in a few places in the album, but most notably here.
