Ghost by Kieran Mahon

I moved to East Sussex in September 2018.
I didn't really know much about the place.
I have been overwhelmed by it. I haven't been as affected by the landscape and mood of an area since I used to lose myself in the Essex countryside as a kid. I am enthralled by the sights of the Downs, the close proximity of the sea, the rivers, the wildlife. Somehow it all ties together - there are constant threads and remnants of those who have lived and worked here. There's a sense of folklore and things waiting to be discovered.

I travel a great deal between Hastings and Brighton and, although the ideas for these pieces were formed in a mixture of settings, the main arrangement and production here was done was in the close atmosphere of train carriages.
The overall sound and mood is likely a reaction to this environment.
I plan to visit all of the hills and woods and beaches that have provided the backdrop to much of this work overtime and perhaps that will bring forth something else.
