HOWL by dip
It has been four years since the release of "HOWL" and "OWL" and the previous album "AFTER LOUD", both released simultaneously in 2013, and Yamaji is in the best condition mentally and physically, having completely gotten out from under the influence of drugs. The combination with the band was very good, and it is fair to say that with these two albums, his youth was over and he had established himself as a musician.
Howl" is a powerful combination of the alternative sounds of the 90s and the garage rock of the 60s that he has experienced himself, and it sounds alive and well. With these two albums, it is no wonder that he has been discovered by audiences as the one and only solitary guitarist in the Japanese rock scene. His clear yet driving riffs and sharp cutting are only effective in a live setting, but this album is also an excellent studio work.
