neue welt by dip
This is the 14th album released in 2014 by the guitar band that has been leading the Japanese alternative scene since the 90s. This album was released at an unusually fast pace for dip after the simultaneous release of "HOWL" and "OWL" in 2013. Yamaji's lyrical world is very lonely and desolate, and if Lou Reed's solitude is as dry as the New York wind, Yamaji's solitude seems to be filled with humid Japanese air. The Velvet Underground and The Doors, and while it may not have the catharsis of rock music, it resonates deeply within. The simple but very delicately played guitars are wonderful.
