Antithesis by BuRu
Slowly, but steadily, Buru have been for the past several years eating away at the musical dams still standing between promise and marvel. It's no overstatement to proclaim them one of the hottest techno acts hailing from Finland right now. Their latest EP on Kuiper Noise is a testament to this. Incisive to the core, edgy, surprising and still, somehow, deeply empathic in the strictest techno terms, it marks a whole new chapter in the life of this exciting duo of brothers. Throughout four carefully crafted tracks, the way forward is paved in colors never before seen in their startlingly cohesive discography. 2018 is coming to an end. But, for these proud Scandinavians, it may just come with a punch big enough to dig a hole right through the middle of 2019, which, should justice prevail, will be their biggest year yet.
