I wrote this while remembering our final beach trip together, Mom and me, before she left us. The warm sunlight hitting the waves that day felt like pure magic - like the darkness that had followed us was finally lifting. We walked along the shore sharing moments that now feel almost dreamlike, each step bringing a sense of peace neither of us had felt in a long time. The ocean breeze carried away our worries, if only for those precious hours, and I felt completely connected to her as we watched the sunset paint the sky.
