Each day became a struggle, waking up with a heaviness that seemed impossible to lift, and my mind couldn't focus on anything but the pain. I found myself turning to medication, hoping that pills could somehow piece me back together, but they only left me with more questions about who I was becoming. The doctors I visited could only offer the same tired advice about patience and letting time heal, but I kept wondering how long I would have to wait for that promised brighter day. Through it all, I've been trying to hold onto whatever light I can find, anything to keep me here and help me believe that I can feel whole again.
