Everyone's Therapist from Ramshackle Heart by Lach

Lach: "The field surrounding the studio was littered with old metal objects and rusted debris. I invited the musicians to bring in whatever pieces of junk they came across over the two weeks we recorded and pretty soon we had a nice pile of heavy metal growing in a corner of the recording room.
When it came time to record Everyone's Therapist I spent an hour or two tying the scraps to an old rack. Bars, cans, rods, and various machine parts soon dangled from rope and chain and we dubbed it the Instrument of Torture. We recorded me hitting them randomly with hammers over the rhythm track that Ben and Caroline had laid down. It had the chaos I was seeking but I needed more burbles and beeps. That's when I remembered my iPhone had a synth on it and we recorded another eight tracks of that. We then spent a mixing day taking out the bits that didn't work and keeping the gems. Like chiseling a solid lump of marble and taking out the parts that aren't the sculpture.
The lyrics are pretty straight forward and rooted in the years I spent behind soundboards mixing sound for bands in dark, East Village clubs."

Laurie’s got a job she hates it won’t let her do her art

Or does working sound make some believe I'd be a sounding board for them

There but for the grace of god I go and I know I’m thoroughly blessed
