Aeroplane from Gigantic Disappointment by Lande Hekt

The aeroplane landed after we passed the coral reef. My hands were still shaking and I cried with relief. I still felt weird from the diazepam that barely stopped me crying. I thought “I will change my life, or at least I never will stop trying”.

I couldn't get to sleep, I don't think I ever turned out the light. So many things frighten me like the rise in the far right. What was I supposed to do, watch everybody leave? Sitting in my chair until I lose the will to breathe.

I’ll leave you as soon as I have somewhere to go. When I see you, I think that you are someone I want to know.

You’re impossible, but so am I. I don't think this will work, but I still want to try.
