im not nearly as poetic
as i was when i was a kid
im just stumbling on all my words
like a big nervous wreckage

and you can tell by how my voice shakes
when i sing the christian hymns
of the old catholic church
mother for years have put me in

but it isn't god that makes me nervous
no not at all
i dont plan on making songs on
religion cause thats personal

and i guess my point yet to be made
is how within us all is how
some of us grow up into
emotionless adults
emotionless adults

and im not easily excited as i was when i was 8
not im 18 and full of chemicals
from smoking cigarettes

i have a jar full of memories
and ashes from teh summer
i cant say it makes me happy
i can say i just got older
