The iconic Peckham record store Rye Wax will be stocking the physicals as an exclusive, before hosting a launch show on the 18th April: Lunch Money Life headlining, 3xplod3d gard3n in support, and AKA Priest on the decks.
3xplod3d gard3n’s never-before-heard meditations open proceedings, lulling your brain to sleep while rousing your heart to action. Every sunken and soaring sound was recorded live in a cavernous warehouse attached to their south London studio.
Collaborator-cum-enabler of the Lunch Money Life crew ever since his appearance on Touching Bass’s Afro Chronicles: Volume 1, Kuu-50’s Jill Scott Flip rips the compilation wide open, with this Cereal Box Free Toy Exclusive (not available digitally). A master manipulator, he takes the smoothest of samples and creates a riot of self-doubt and hesitation.
The middle distance is occupied by Lunch Money Life members old and new: AKA Priest preaches transcendence with sub bass rumblings and effect-laden mantras; live three-piece Klavier throb, skip and jump across a Juno-106, a Korg MS-20, and an SPD-SX; Ryto Sarma, alias of brothers Spencer and Jack, fill future-floors with dreamlike dance music; and multi-disciplinary artist, Flames Pow, weaves a nurturing ambient escape.
